There has been rumors spreading that Apple will unveil their latest gadget, the Macbook Pro and Macbook Air in June. Japanese website Mac Otakara has reported this and also, they claimed that the company will announce a refresh to its entire Macbook Pro series this month.
However, Apple's announcement contradicts with the websites report as they have said that they will not release any further upgrades in the Air lineup. Instead, they plan to announce a new Macbook Pro and will focus on making budgeted laptops. But, since the Wednesday’s report talks of a 15-inch MacBook Air — a size that has never been available for that model — it’s possible that the “new MacBook Air” it purports is in the works could, in fact, just be Apple’s next-generation MacBook Pro.
In addition, the report also claims that all of the new Macbook Air and Macbook Pro models will be equipped with Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports, while USB-A, MagSafe 2, and Thunderbolt 2 will be removed from older models.
The device is said to have bigger retina display. It was previously rumored that the new MacBook Pro laptops might feature a certain system to pair it with an iPhone device and use the smartphone’s Touch ID feature as a security method. However, it seems that Apple might have decided to give the new MacBook Pro laptops its own sensor instead. Users will also get a dynamic OLED display touch bar that will replace the row of function keys above the traditional keyboard. The new MacBook Pro is also expected to adopt metal injection mold-made hinges, which are reportedly already shipping.
Mac Otakara said it is unclear whether Apple plans to announce the new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models at WWDC 2016, but multiple reliable sources have indicated that it will effectively be a no-hardware event. Apple could still make a non-WWDC announcement in June by way of press release. But for now, let's wait for the official announcement of Apple which will occur on Monday, June 13 at 10:00 a.m Pacific Time.
