The private beta for the upcoming Fallout 4's PS4 mods is fast approaching, and Bethesda has revealed some details about the current state of PS4 mods.
First, they have revealed that the creation Kit will support uploading mods to Playstation 4. The updated version of the Creation Kit (which is 1.5.4) have an interesting security system which Bethesda implemented in response to the previous issue on stolen mods on Xbox One.
However, the update comes with some bad news. One of these is the obvious mode file size limit being 900 MB compared to Xbox One's 2 GB. But Bethesda said that they are currently working with Sony to fix this problem.
The other issue affects memory usage and overall game peformance when using PC textures. Bethesda is also working with Sony to create an “optimal texture exporting support in a future update.”
Finally, sound files are currently not supported due to the console’s use of a proprietary audio format. Again, this is another thing the studio is working with Sony to fix.
