Destiny: Rise of Iron launches on September 20 for PS4 and Xbox One. Barrett spoke to us about why it's not coming to PS3 and Xbox 360, and he also explained how dedicated players will be rewarded before the expansion launches. You can read more about Rise of Iron here.
During E3, Gamespot got a chance to interview Rise of Iron creative lead Christopher Barrett and, he provides some valuable information about the new raid and playable zone of the next Destiny expansion.
We all know that Rise of Iron will have new weapons, gears, strikes , crucibles maps and raids but, what we don't know (and I think what everybody wants to know) is the nature of those new activities. Now, Barrett did not unveil nitty-gritty stuff about the new raids and activities but, he said that "It's a Fallen theme". So it looks like those rumors about a Fallen raid were true after all. He added that it will take place in the new zone in Rise of Iron called The Plaguelands so it's basically tied up in the theme of SIVA fighting the Fallen Devil Splicers.
When asked by Gamespot on how the new zone (The Plagueland) will interact with the old area which is the Cosmodrome, he said, ""We're gonna have two patrol nodes [on Earth]," he explained. "So players will be able to jump directly into the new content and explore the Plaguelands. They'll also, as part of the new campaign, be able to return to parts of the Cosmodrome that have changed. He added that although players will return to where their first Destiny adventures begun, the Cosmodrome is a changed place in Rise of Iron. It has collapsed and there's snow everywhere, and the Fallen have gone crazy!
All I can say is the concept of the new raids and activities is really cool! When Barrett said that The Fallen has gone crazy, I just feel the hype rush into my vains! All I can say is, my body is not ready for this hype! LOL.
Destiny: Rise of Iron will be out on September 20th for the PS4 and Xbox One console. It will not be available for old gen consoles. It will retail for $29.99. If you want to know everything about the expansion, then check out our Destiny Rise of Iron article here.
