CP stands for combat power in Pokemon GO and it is useful for Pokemon that are used in combat, especially if you are planning to take down gyms. We already know the list of max obtainable CP but , it will definitely be an advantage if we can get an idea of how to obtain more than 1000 CP points (or even 2000+) for a Pokemon with its final evolution don't you think?
This page aims to help trainers decide which Pokemon to evolve. E.g. Would your 300CP Dratini evolve into something stronger than your 550CP Dragonair? Or are you better off evolving the Dragonair?
The table below shows you what CP a Pokemon is likely to evolve into a 1000+ CP / 2000 + CP, based on sample data and a bit of help from the formula (which calculates the exact CP of a Pokemon's evolution).
Note: Not all Pokemon scale up in CP the same during evolution. Some species increase CP by 50%, others by 300%.
How did I get these information you ask?
If you haven't heard yet, there are some trainers out there who have datamined the Pokemon Go app recently and found some important details about the game, including some numbers and figures that helps create a formula which calculate the CP, HP and other important stats in Pokemon Go.
With that being said, they have released some really helpful tool to help trainers out. One of these tools is the Poke Assistant where you can input the current CP of your Pokemon, and find out its final CP when it evolves. Pretty convenient eh?
Now what I've did is use this tool, calculate how much CP would it need to get a 1000+ or 2000+ CP Pokemon (final evolution), and put those data in a more readable form. If you want to try it for yourself however, then you can by visiting the link for the tool here later.
Use this info as indication on what Pokemon you should prioritize in evolving first. In that way, you'll not waste your time and effort collecting resources to evolve a certain Pokemon and in the end, it turns out that its final CP is lower than expected.
So I think you get the usefulness of this page. Now go on and see the table below.
