Introduction

"The MazeRunner" is another TH10 farming labyrinth designed for ultimate resource protection. It has been months since my last base thread, and i have been holding onto this one for a while. A mixture of base tweaking and pure laziness has prevented me from releasing it, until now...

Introducing...

The MazeRunner! A second-generation farming base to be the successor of The Dawn, The MazeRunner has been improved in almost every way. Smarter funneling, better segmentation, and proper protection for the Elixir Storages are a few of the improvements i have made. Also, the Air Defenses are less exposed and provide significant coverage into the center of the base, allowing for safer farming in Masters III+.

Goals

My goal for The MazeRunner was to provide proficient resource protection in any league, so the farmer could freely travel to where the loot is. Certain farming bases that excel in the Gold leagues and lower Crystal can get absolutely devastated in Masters III.

I also wished to further improve my base building skills and learn more about the mechanics of farming bases.

Base-building Process

The Core:


As one of the biggest advocates for unorthodox cores, i had no choice but to choose one for this base as well. The MazeRunner sports a galaxy-like core that houses the Clan Castle, Dark Elixir storage, King, Queen, and X-bows. The Archer Tower acts as a 4th X-bow to keep symmetry.

Storage Compartments:


Next, I added my storage compartments. I decided to keep them fairly compact in order to give my Infernos and X-bows the most coverage possible. These compartments include my Gold and Elixir storages, as well as the Mortars and Wizard Towers for overwhelming splash coverage.

Buffer Compartments:


The buffer compartments further protect the storages and add an extra line of defense to the base. The Archer Towers funnel in defense targeting troops leaving the the tier 1 troops all alone against the wizard towers. This is extremely effective for disposing massive amounts of troops and fending off almost all common farming strategies.

​Summary:

Overall i was very pleased with how the base turned out and the results i got. This is no doubt a solid labyrinth design that will make any TH10 farmer proud. Still, The MazeRunner is only the next step in my base building "career" as i hope to improve with every base i make.
