Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata has more in store for the fans of the game, even beyond what has already been announced.
The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu included a spread with the 2017 goals of quite a few developers, including Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata.
Tabata-san promises further evolution for the game, even beyond the rather extensive update plan that has already been announced.
“We will evolve our released game Final Fantasy XV more and more, and together with it, we will also evolve. We will further evolve the foundation and know-how of Final Fantasy XVin preparation for new initiatives.
Final Fantasy XV is undergoing development for the updates, and we’re also working on an unannounced awesome expansion, so please look forward to it.”
Final Fantasy XV already received the first DLC of a rather extensive season pass that will culminate with a new multiplayer gameplay mode after providing adventures that will let us play Gladio, Prompto and Ignis. Yet, Tabata-san also talked in the past about further free updates, like the implementation of new playable characters and even the possibility of an avatar system that would grant players the ability to create their own characters, on top of further story scenes.

Maybe we’ll hear more about what Tabata-san is planning then. A date for the broadcast has not been shared yet, but it promises a New Year greeting and new information. Of course we’ll let you know as soon as Square Enix provides more detail on when and where the livestream will happen.
The publisher recently revealed that Square Enix shipped over six million copies combining brick and mortar retail and digital downloads. Apparently, that’s plenty to justify the extensive long-term
Hajime Tabata’s labor of love also won our two Game of the Year awards, picked both by our staff and by our readers via popular vote. On top of that, it also brought home our Best RPG Award, while Hajime Tabata’s Square Enix Business Division 2 team won the Best Developer award tied with Naughty Dog.
