Destiny: A Quick Guide on Getting Your Sleeper Simulant Today

Welcome referred friends (if you weren't already referred in year one) and black friday shoppers to a guide on how to obtain the super big bouncy laser gun in Destiny - the "Sleeper Simulant".

The beginning of this quest only appears on the 7th of each month after the daily reset, so unless you want to wait a month before you can start the quest again, I'd try and finish the first step today. If you finish the first step of the quest, you can continue the rest of the quest at any time.

Sound good? Alrighty, here we go.

Step 1: "DVALIN Relics"

Before the real quest even begins, you would have needed to acquire 4 DVALIN relics that randomly drop in the wild from killing minions of the darkness (PvE enemies). These appear as legendary quality fusion rifles that appear in the mission section of your inventory before you turn them into the Gunsmith for that sweet rep.

These DVALIN relics have the names:

DVALIN-RAS8711-FR001

DVALIN-RAS8711-FR002

DVALIN-RAS8711-FR003

DVALIN-RAS8711-FR004

If you can't find any DVALIN relics in the wild, chance is that you've already collected all 4. Or if you're still unsure, check if you have the next step available.

Step 2: "The First Firewall"

On Earth in your director you should see a new mission pop up around the middle of the map called "The First Firewall". If you don't see this new mission, see Step 0.5. This mission will send you into Rasputin to activate a control panel. Upon activating the control panel, taken and hive knights will begin to spawn in specific sequences in the room. To make things easier, The sequences are listed below as we'll need them later. There are 4 waves of knights, each with their own unique sequence, and each next wave spawns in after killing the current wave of knights. After all 4 waves of knights have spawned in and have been oblitorated by your trusty hammer of sol, an ultra will spawn in. Take him out and you'll be rewarded with the "Curious Transceiver".

Step 3: "The First Firewall" - Curious Transceiver

After completing "The First Firewall" mission, you'll find that you'll have the new "Curious Transceiver" item in the missions section of your inventory. Open it up, and begin typing in and confirming the following codes. After completing and confirming a code, you'll need to go back into the Curious Transceiver to enter in the next.

We'll be referring to the top row of symbols as "1", and the bottom row as "2".

Input the codes from left to right, in this order:

1 2 1 1 2 2 2 1 2

1 2 1 1 2 2 1 1

1 2 2 2 1 2 2 2 1 1

1 2 1 2 1 2 1 1

Upon entering all 4 codes successfully, the Curious Transceiver should now be broadcasting.

Step 4: "Shadow Call"

Now that your Curious Transceiver is broadcasting, you should see a new mission in your director called "Shadow Call". You'll recognise this mission as "Cayde's Stash", except this time you spawn at the top of the elevator, and you have 4 minutes to complete the rest of the mission while in a darkness zone. Dying here will reset you back to the start of the mission.

Try and complete this mission as fast as possible, because if the timer hits 30 seconds left a Shadow of Oryx will spawn making it more difficult to complete the mission. This mission cannot be completed with a fireteam, you must go in solo.

Upon completing the mission, you'll be rewarded with the "Ikelos Fusion Core", another mission item that will appear in the missions section of your inventory.

Step 5: "Ikelos Fusion Core"

Inspecting the "Ikelos Fusion Core" reveals 5 components that each have their own challenges that need completing. These challenges are:

Ionized Shell Harmonics * Complete “The Archive” mission on Venus on any difficulty.

Heavy Power Coupling * Dismantle any Legendary heavy weapon.

Plasma Confinement Control Module 1 * Defend the Warsat during a public event on Earth.

Plasma Confinement Control Module 2 * Defend the Warsat during a public event on the Moon.

Plasma Confinement Control Module 3 * Defend the Warsat during a public event on Mars.

To easily locate when a public event is about to occur on a destination, me and many other users would suggest using DestinyPublicEvents. Simply navigate to the planet you want to check public events on, and travel to the location where a public event is about to occur before the time hits 0 mins. (I would also recommend waiting another 5-8 minutes after the public event is supposed to happen - sometimes the website is delayed on its times because they're estimates. (Just remember you're looking for Warsats - this image.>)

When you've completed these requirements, inspect the fusion core and click on all the challenges to assemble it. Now, head back to the gunsmith and hand him the core.

Step 6: "Fallen S.A.B.E.R"

After handing the gunsmith the core, he'll give you a mission for the frame of the Sleeper Simulant where you need to complete a unique Fallen S.A.B.E.R Strike. This strike is 280 light and appears as a new icon on your director. When completed, return back to the Gunsmith and you're done!

After you've finished all those task listed above, you get the laser bouncing Sleeper Simulant! Congratulations!
