14 Pokemon That Spawn More at Night in Pokemon GO

Pokemon GO players have been collecting data since the day the mobile game released in hopes of understanding spawn patterns and nests timers and a full year after launch they are still learning new things from the community data on a daily basis. The latest Pokemon GO breakthrough is a collection of data that suggests a specific list of species have much lower spawn rates during the daylight.

We know that Pokemon show up in spawn nests on a rotating timer, but so far, all of the other details are mostly based on speculation and interpretation of user gathered data. That user data includes the time of each catch and a recent study of that intel suggests that 14 species are spawning far more frequently after sunset than they are during the daylight hours.

Here is a look at the data gathered and interpreted by Pokemon Go Hub…

  • Houndour
  • Zubat and Golbat
  • Ariados
  • Gastly and Haunter
  • Sneasel
  • Oddish
  • Quagsire
  • Meowth
  • Hoothoot and Noctowl
  • Murkrow
  • Misdreavus
The ‘nocturnal’ Pokemon include six Generation I monsters and eight from Generation II. This is very useful information for players who are still trying to complete their Pokedex and have only been out hunting during the daylight. It is important to note that all of these Pokemon do spawn during the day, they just seem to spawn less during the day than the rest of the monsters of similar rarity.

Niantic does seem to changeup spawn patterns very frequently and without any kind of notice, so there is a chance that this pattern may change in the future.
