The Generation 7 Buff and it's Effect to Pokemon GO

So it turns out that the Pokemon Company have upgraded the stats of pokemon to make them more competitive. Specifically, the developer have just employed a Generation 7 buff to the pokemon which happened after the release of Pokemon Sun and Moon. You can check out the full list of updated stats on Serebii here later.

Now the company have released the same buff on Gold & Silver when they introduced the Special defense stat to the game. This buff made a lot of Pokemon slightly stronger as one of their stat was altered but, it totally changes the way the Pokemon is being utilised in battle.

The question now is, how does Gen 7 buff affect Pokemon GO?

As we know it, Pokemon GO uses Combat Power or what we call as CP in short. This Gen 7 buff will directly reflect to the Combat Power of Pokemon which may increase their CP for a bit. Right now, Pokemon GO is using generation 6 stats and when this upcoming buff is active, here's how the stats and max cp will look like:

As you notice, you can hardly notice the CP change. So if you will hear a CP change in the next few weeks, then don't expect it to be that of a big deal. I also think that Gen 7 buff will be implemented when gym rework update will be release, as I'm assuming that it will be some sort of balancing every pokemon when the big event hits the game.
