In Patch 7.2.5, Demon Hunters will be able to collect the appearances of Illidan's Warglaives of Azzinoth. Will we be able to mog Legendary weapons in the future?
Patch 7.2.5 added Black Temple as the first Timewalking raid, available during the Burning Crusade Timewalking. What's interesting is the addition of Arsenal: The Warglaives of Azzinoth that seems to be dropping from Illidan. Demon Hunters will be able to collect the appearances of Warglaive of Azzinoth & Warglaive of Azzinoth. Many thoughts come to my mind, but please understand 7.2.5 is in early testing phase and many aspects do not represent the final product.
The first one being, why can only Demon Hunters acquire it, when Warglaives were available also to Death Knights, Monks, Rogues & Warriors? Have they been changed to Warglaives?
The second question is related to transmogrification and the fantasy behind Legendary items (mainly weapons). They were and still are hard (time-consuming) to obtain and represent dedication in an expansion. They either have extremely low drop chance or gating behind long series of quests. I don't see any reason why wouldn't they be moggable, because at the moment, we're able to mog Mists of Pandaria Legendary cloaks and Legion Legendaries. If Blizzard's planning to add Arsenal: The Warglaives of AzzinothArsenal: The Warglaives of Azzinoth, maybe we'll see other Legendary item appearances drop in future Timewalking raids, like Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient KingsVal'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings from Timewalking Ulduar etc.
Moggable Legendary Weapons?
If Blizzard's planning to make Legendary Weapon appearances moggable via something as trivial as Timewalking, players that have been able to obtain them "the regular way" should definitely be entitled to mog them.
