These QR Codes Will Help You Fill Out Your Pokemon Sun & Moon Pokedex Super Fast

One of Pokémon Sun and Moon’s lesser-known features is the QR code scanner. Although it was revealed pre-launch, the finer details are still being uncovered by players who have blasted through the games. What we do know by now is that this piece of post-game content is pretty cool, and players are helping each other out by making it far more accessible.

The QR code scanner is unlocked after beating the main campaign. It allows players to ... well, scan QR codes, obviously. Every code corresponds to one Pokémon in Alola’s regional Pokédex, and once scanned, players will be able to register them to seek out in their own games. The Pokédex will show where that Pokémon can be caught on the map, if at all, which is great for filling out that ‘dex.

Reddit users have compiled every single QR code of every single monster in the Alolan Pokédex. There’s a gigantic Imgur page that includes all of the codes for some easy sifting, but below are some uncommon Pokémon to get to scanning already.

Quick note: Players can only scan one code per day. Choose wisely — as in, maybe don’t scan that shiny Dartrix code, since that’s not a Pokémon you’ll ever find out in the wild.

Ditto is a great Pokémon to have in your party for breeding purposes, since it can mate with any non-legendary Pokémon. This Pokémon loves nothing more than shape-shifting and getting down and dirty.

Rockruff is surprisingly tough to find! It’s so dang cute, though, so you’re going to want to hunt it down ASAP.

Mimikyu is Sun and Moon’s most heartbreaking new Pokémon. Please find it. Please love it.

Feebas is Pokémon’s original ugly duckling. It evolves into the way more attractive Milotic — if you can find this elusive guy first, of course.

Comfey is a rad new Pokémon that’s not the easiest to come by. Here’s some help if you want this floating lei in your party.

There are even more QR codes available on Reddit if you’re willing to download them. They pertain to the national Pokédex, which includes all 802 Pokémon. And that’s a whole lot of Pokémon, man.
