World of Warcraft: King Varian Wrynn's Epitaph
A World of Warcraft player has translated version of King Varian Wrynn's epitaph which can be found at the heart of the newly rebuilt Stormwind Park - which serves as a memorial for those that have died during the last Legion invasion. The epitaph is inscribed on all three pillars surrounding the former King's tomb and can also be found in the nearby sepulcher alongside the necrology of those that have fallen from battle.
The epitaph reads:
The Son of Stormwind lies here.
Broken in two by his weakness, he lived by the sword.
Forged together again, greatest king the kingdoms of Lordaeron have ever seen.
He lead the might of the Alliance with pride.
He lives forever in our heavy hearts.
Rest in peace, oh Son of Stormwind.
World of Warcraft: King Varian Wrynn's Death
After finishing the long Broken Shore quest-line in the new World of Warcraft Legion expansion, players (varies from faction) will witness the ending cinematic which will lead to the demise of King Varian Wrynn. For players under the alliance faction, you'll witness the horde abandoning the alliance amidst the heat of the battle; leaving Wrynn and the rest of the troops for the Legion to prey. But in actuality, in the horde's perspectives, the Legion was already overrunning the faction and almost fatally wounding the horde Warchief, Vol'Jin - who eventually died and promoted Sylvanas as his successor.
