When we talked about Pokemon GO right now, we almost hear news about accidents caused by the game, diminishing numbers of players and, some bugs and glitches. But hey, the app has just gone live a couple of months ago and, it looks like Niantic hasn’t released the most awesome features of the game just yet!

A thread on Reddit emerged last week about some information concerning on what are the new features that Niantic will add in the future. And no, this information aren’t rumors made by someone who just want attention. The info was datamined using the codes from the most recent Pokemon GO updates. So if you want to take a peek on what’s possibly coming, then continue reading below as we’ll list all the possible features that Pokemon GO will have in the future.

#1 Trading

“Duh. We already knew that this feature will be coming you moron.” Yeah, I assume that you already know that this feature will be added but, it’s really interesting that it was data-mined in the recent version of the game already. Phrases like "Trade_search" and "Trade_offer" were uncovered by multiple Reddit users in the game's most recent update.

This indicates that players will soon be able to offer creatures for others to browse and choose from. In short, it looks like we’ll not gonna wait long to finally use this feature.

#2 “Buddy” Pokemon

They added "buddy Pokémon", which seem to be Pokémon that can walk beside you and gather candy, probably for their own evolution line. I'm guessing you'll get one candy at a time, every X km walked (km_buddy_distance in the protos), the distance being different for each Pokémon species. Buddies will have different sizes (BUDDY_MEDIUM, BUDDY_SHOULDER, BUDDY_BIG, BUDDY_FLYING), probably depending on the species, although it could also be influenced by the Pokémon's individual size. Each Pokémon has a new data entry which records the total number of candies it gathered (buddy_candy_awarded).

#3 New Kinds of Incense

Incense in Pokémon Go attracts random Pokémon to your location for 30 minutes. But Niantic could soon let players attract specific types of Pokémon with special incense, according to the game's code.
Placeholders for "Item_incense_cool" and "Item_incense_floral" have been uncovered, which suggest you may be able to attract just ice and water or bug and grass types of Pokémon.

#4 Legendary Pokemon Reference Uncovered

It looks like Niantic is already preparing for those Legendary Pokemon events that they have mentioned during the past!

While plenty of references to Legendary Pokémon, like Mew and Mewtwo, have already been discovered, the most recent update to the game's code includes a new placeholder called "activity_catch_legend_pokemon."

That means players will be able to catch these rare creatures, although how and where they'll be caught remains a mystery. Niantic has hinted that it will introduce big group events in the game, and footage from the game's original trailer shows players taking down Mewtwo together.

#5 Playing Pokemon GO in VR?

Yes, you'll probably be able to play Pokémon Go in VR soon.

A new "VR" folder in the game's code includes references to Google Cardboard, the inexpensive VR headset that's literally made with cardboard.

#6 Super Duper Interesting Knowledge about Gen II eggs!

Wait. That’s not the end of it! Now this is not included in the data-mined code but, this was discovered earlier today when I was browsing bulbapedia. It’s about the Eggs in Pokemon GO. It looks like the Pokemon GO egg distribution is based on the main series/handheld game egg steps (except for starters). So basically if Niantic will do the same once they release Gen II Pokemon, here's what you’ll be getting from 2/5/10 km eggs:
