Pokemon Go fans will be disappointed to hear that despite an increase in Pink Pokemon spawn rates as part of the Valentine's event, you still won't be able to catch them all before the February 15 end date.
In fact, you could say that Pokemon Go fans have no CHANSEY of catching pink Pokemon outside of their natural habitat.
As part of the latest event, Pokemon Go players will receive double the amount of Candy every time players hatch, catch and transfer Pokemon; Lure modules will last a whopping 6 hours and Pink Pokemon will appear in the wild more often.
But as Pokemon Go expert Nick from Trainer Tips points out, you won't see Pink Pokemon spawn outside of their natural Biomes.
"People are reporting with this event that they're only seeing increased spawns of the pink Pokemon in their natural Biomes, meaning, if you live in an area where Clefairy spawns regularly, you'll see a lot more Clefairy." he explained (via Daily Star).
"But, if you live in an area, or if you're playing in an area where Chansey never spawns, or where Porygon never spawns, or where Lickatung never spawns, you're not going to see them there."
It's bad news for Pokemon Go fans who were hoping to catch some rare Pokemon during the event.
And that's not the only reason why the Valentine's event hasn't gone down well with all fans.
Players were hoping for the release of Gen 2 Pokemon, following months of rumours and speculation.
However, Pokemon Go dataminers have discovered evidence of big new features to come, including new moves, Pokemon, Evolution stones and customisation items. The full list can be found below...
- 100 new Pokemon, 38 new moves
- Evolution Stones and Split Evolution support
- New avatar customisation options
- New ways to unlock avatar swag
- support for Shiny Pokémon
- support for Pokémon genders
- support for various Bluetooth devices
- new Badges and new catch mechanics (Critical Catch)
- 7 new sponsors
- support for In App Avatar purchases
The Valentine's event also delivered a secret update that changes the whole egg hatching dynamic. This makes it easier to catch certain 5km and 10km Pokemon.
Pokemon such as Abra, Bellsprout, Cubone, Diglett, Ekans, Exeggecute, Ghastly, Goldeen, Krabby, Machop, Nidoran (both), Oddish, Seel, Slowpoke, Venonat and Voltorb are now in the 2km category, while Pinsir and Scyther have moved from 10km to 5km.
Reducing the Pokemon found in the 5km and 10km tiers makes it more likely that you'll spawn a rarity, although the extra 2km Pokemon make it even more of a lottery at the lower levels.
It's even possible that the company is freeing up space for the release of Gen 2 Pokemon.
