Nest Migration & Egg Update Occured in Pokemon GO After Valentine Event Announcement

The 13th nest migration and several egg changes occurred right after Niantic announced the upcoming valentines day event for Pokemon GO. Check all the changes here.

Nest Migration

Pokémon Nests have changed again! This was observed in the wild around 12 hours before the writing of this post, at UTC midnight of 9th of February 2017.

If you’re wondering what has changed, we urge you to explore your local area. Migrationary Pokémon are randomly shuffled since the 3rd Nest Migration, making it difficult to make any comprehensive change log. As always, use TheSilphRoad’s Nest Atlas to report your findings!

Egg Update

Players discovered that Pokemon Go's egg pools have shifted immensely, with many 2 KM eggs now hatching Pokemon like Oddish, Goldeen, and Abra, while 5 KM eggs are hatching rarer Pokemon like Pinsir.

There's a few possibilities as to why Pokemon Go is shifting its egg pool. The most obvious is that they're pushing more 2 KM eggs on players in order to encourage them to hatch more Pokemon during the event (which means more egg incubators and more money). Pokemon Go could also be rebalancing the egg pool to make room in the 5 KM and 10 KM egg pools for new Gen 2 Pokemon, which would make players extremely happy.
