As the owner of one of the most popular brands in the world today, The Pokemon Company does a pretty solid job at providing fans of the Pokemon franchise with plenty of collectibles for their respective shelves and desks. A great example of this would be the resurrection of the original Pokemon Trading Cards that occurred in late 2016, and now it looks as if the firm is at it again with a line of Pokeball terrariums.
Featuring six different Pocket Monsters from the original games, these orbs look to be a neat little collectible for fans that have always wanted to glimpse at what life inside a Pokeball might look like for their Pokemon. The first set includes Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Eevee (with a hidden Diglett), Snorlax, Lapras, and Dragonair, and they appear to be distributed randomly through blind box packages. Fortunately, those vying for a particular Pokemon will receive a piece of gum within each and every box, so the thrill of the item’s unboxing is made just a little bit sweeter.
As of this writing, it sounds as if there are only plans to release these Pokeball terrariums in Japan, where they’ll retail for 750 yen ($6.85 USD) apiece. Those outside of the region that are hoping to catch a glimpse of each creature within their plastic Pokeball, however, can do so below.
Despite some of these being favorites amongst fans, this offering still leaves a number of beloved beasts out of the limelight. Now, there’s a chance that more will make it for the line’s next series of Pokeball terrariums – if The Pokemon Company deems the collectible a success – but only time will tell if that is the case. In the meantime, fans interested in securing one of these figures may have to turn to importing them from their manufacturer, Re-Ment.
This line of Pokemon collectibles, aptly titled the ‘Terrarium Collection’, will arrive in Japan on September 14, 2017.
