Dragon Ball Super is now well into its Universal Survival arc, and there’s been rumors for the past few months that Goku would be getting a new Super Saiyan form. Shueisha has officially unveiled the first-look at the transformation via the latest issue of V-Jump that just hit shelves in Japan.
The image shows a topless Goku with his hair — still black — rising than his regular form but not quite as high as his Super Saiyan form. Aesthetically it looks quite similar to the Pseudo Super Saiyan form during his battle against Lord Slug in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Lord Slug (although the form is considered non-canon). The new transformation finds Goku surrounded by a white-blue aura, and his eyes are turned a shade of silver.
Fans got their first-look at Goku’s upcoming transformation via a promotional poster released earlier this year. The image, however, showed Goku with his back to the viewer.
There is no details as to when the form will debut on the show and how Goku will unlock this power-up. There is also no detail as to what the form is called and if it’s an extension of the Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue transformations or if it is something entirely different.
Dragon Ball Super is currently in its Universal Survival arc, where the strongest fighters of eight of the 12 universes are fighting in The Tournament of Power planned by Zen-Oh. If all 10 fighters of a universe are knocked out the stage, their universe would be immediately destroyed. As of Episode 103, universes 9 and 10 have been eradicated.
