Mike Laidlaw, creative director of the series, revealed through his Twitter account and in response to a fan that both he and his team have already discussed several ideas with which they could work on a new installment of the franchise of Dragon Age. In fact, he emphasized that the discussion has been such that which even considers that what they have generated could serve to generate two new titles.
BioWare’s efforts are currently largely focused on Anthem, the new ambitious Sci-Fi IP presented for the first time during last Los Angeles E3. The Canadian software house has frozen the Mass Effect series at the moment, but what kind of destiny awaits for the saga of Dragon Age?
Speaking to fans on Twitter, Mike Laidlaw, senior creative director of Dragon Age, has confirmed that BioWare has at least two more chapters in mind to expand the narrative universe originally created in Origins, and then go on to Dragon Age 2 and finally Dragon Age: Inquisition.
In fact, Laidlaw stated that “there is no planned ending for DA. There is an evolving plan that tends to look 2 games ahead or so,” for the series. So it is not excluded that the saga can continue even after a hypothetical Dragon Age 5.
What we know at the moment is that the new iteration of the RPG series is in its embryonic developmental phases and that BioWare intends to deepen the narrative themes left partially unexplored in the past. So according to those facts, some fans have already suggested Tevinter as the main setting for the new game.
For now, it is known that a new installment of Dragon Age would be in development. If we rely on the words of the creative, then we could assume that the new game would be thought to be linked with a further continuation.
